Description

Annual. Salpiglossis or Painted Tongue has velvety flowers with metallic coloration and veination that has to be seen to be believed! A gardener in the early 1900s described them as having “bewildering combinations”. Flowers beckon admirers to take a closer look and are irresistible to butterflies. They make excellent cut flowers.

My blueberry plant arrived in excellent condition – super fast shipment and as described. Will definitely be ordering from Hirt’s again in the future.
For anyone who orders live plants – make sure that upon delivery you immediately open the box and remove the plants (don’t wait a day or two). I removed the packaging holding the soil in the container, watered my plant and then placed on my sunny kitchen window sill to condition for a week or so before moving outside. I will re-pot in a month or two (when I begin to see roots coming out of the pot the blueberry was shipped in). I will be ordering from Hirt’s again in the future 🙂

Working on a memorial garden with mostly hosta plants. Saw these and thought different. Received plants quickly and was surprised at the nice size for the price. Plants are very healthy. Keeping in house until ready to plant in WNY state. These will be perfect for location. Didn’t want a solid green…deer prefer those. Very happy with purchase, service and the quality! Excellent!!!
