Hoya Carnosa Krimson Queen Plant (Not Krimson Princess) You will receive a plant similar to the one in the picture. All pots have variegation (Plant may or may not have pink leaves at the time of shipment). EASY TO GROW STARTER PLANT: This plant grows fast and strong and it is a great starter plant. Very similar to succulents. One of the easiest Hoyas to grow. Makes a nice hanging basket as it’ll eventually have lots of hanging vines. Drought and sun tolerant, but grows better in bright shade/filtered light. Why it’s special: Everything you love about the classic Carnosa, but with leaves lined in white and pink, in addition to the green. Occasionally, this Hoya will have stems of bright pink and will shoot out solid white leaves. A stunner. What it likes: This is one of the pickier Hoyas. It needs very bright, but indirect light, to thrive. Also enjoys heat and high humidity. Follow watering procedure for normal carnosa, above. What it dislikes: Low-medium light, cold drafty windows. Particularly sensitive to over-watering. Portlanders, be sure you have a bright enough spot to keep this one happy! Please understand that these are living plants. I always try to ship out all my plants without any damage to their leaves, however, sometimes during the shipping process, the plant may get browning on a leaf or damage to a leaf. Also, sometimes plants can go into shock from shipping or different growing conditions. Plants usually bounce back in a couple days once watered and placed in indirect sunlight/partial shade. SHIPPING IN COLD WEATHER: Please check your local weather forecast before buying. We recommend you add a heat pack to your order if are ordering live plants and cuttings and your area is experiencing temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit.  THESE PLANTS ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO TEMPERATURES UNDER 40° Our shop is NOT responsible for any cold damage the plant may experience during shipping. Cutting Only : Plant Cutting propagation can be done in water or soil, but once it begins, the plant has difficult switching to the other growing medium. If you place the cutting in water, the plant should remain in water once it grows larger. The same goes for a cutting propagated in the soil. It is normal for your cutting to shed a few leaves over time, but if you are seeing increased leaf loss, there might be an underlying problem. If your cutting plant has distorted leaf growth, this may be due to nutrient and/or light deficiencies, insect infestations, or too little water. Mealybugs and scale often take up residence on the plant, and can be removed with an alcohol-soaked cotton ball. If the cutting plant leaf tips are turning brown, this is a sign of low humidity. To solve this problem, you can lightly spray your plant with water or place it in a room with a humidifier. Bare Root Only : Soil: Lightweight, well-aerated, fast-draining growing medium Container: Use a small sized pot that keeps the roots tightly packed; Drainage holes are a must Light: Although this plant will survive in low light conditions, bright indirect sunlight is best Temperature: Daytime 70 F (21 C) and above, nighttime 60-65 F (16-18 C) Humidity: Higher humidity than average household levels (40-60 percent) Watering: Water when the soil is almost dry during growth phase, infrequently during winter Fertilizing: Feed monthly with diluted water-soluble fertilizer only in spring and summer Potted plant Only : DO NOT WATER YOUR PLANT for at least 2-3 days. DO NOT RE-POT for at least 6-8 weeks. Your plant Needs to settle and acclimate. Some leaves might drop or turn yellow.
